Like the title, you can argue they were totally incompetent, they desired the encouraged player moment, or heck, maybe it is not black and WOW TBC Classic Gold white - they were fine understanding that their incompetence rewarded them, therefore they dragged their feet on fixing it until much more than a year later.
Wow has had 20 decades of development effort and experience thrown at it. Apart from shitty systems and decisions... It works, the game works and has a complete world constructed already. That's a lot more than we can say about a great deal of mmos already. For the most part there aren't any game breaking issues that stop a large section of the player base from playingwith.
WoW also offers the submerged cost fallacy attached to it. Everyone put in 20k hours into the game feels tied to it and it has to get better. . Right? Those 20k hours were not for nothing. . Right?
I feel like the price of creating the mmo genre is going to be nearly impossible to get into without prior base.
There is a couple of ones on the horizon using a theoretical endless budget such as new world and ashes of creation but these mmos would need to be polished to perfection and radical to get folks to remain on them along with my hopes for them are not very high.
I used to talk with Hazzikostas frequently in Vanilla. We played on the exact same server. He was among the most friendly and intelligent gamers I've ever met. I cannot fathom he is genuinely incompetent. There's just no solution. He came to the gaming industry via guild management like Pardo and Kaplan.
This is what I recall of him. He was one of the posters who convinced me to not get involved and donate something to EJ - like a lurker and utilize other people's mathematics to my advantage. Ion was real big on jumping down people's throats for daring to contradict him, even though he was obviously erroneous. He had been a prick and he's a prick today.
It could just be coincidence, but I wonder if it's related. WoW's present condition could be his endeavor to mend all of the problems he had with early WoW as a raider, which caters to his particular experience and tastes, which could simply flat out not function in an present game. It means he has molded it to cheap Burning Crusade Classic Gold exactly what he needs, which involved cutting off balls and sewing on brand new ones to try and get it to fit.
